Yesterday was a sunday as I like them occasionaly. Windy, dark and rainy...the perfect day to make some good comfort food! I stayed in bed working for school and reading Maupin's Tales of the city all day long, and made with boyfriend good chunky soup and a traditionnal dessert from Quebec, a "pouding chômeur"!
For those who would like to trie this so good and simple cake, here his the receipe:
Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 1 2/3 cup flour
-1 tea spoon baking powder
-2/3 cup sugar
-1/2 cup melted butter
-3/4 cup milk
-2 big eggs
-1 tea spoon vanilla
-salt
For the sirup:
-2 cups of hot water
-3 cups of brown sugar
To make it, simply mix the ingredients for the cake in a mixer, until you get a smooth texture. Put it in a geased cake tin, and gently pour the sirup on it (that you simply left boiled for about 5 min). Put it in the oven at 350 F until the cake has a golden color, for about 30 min. That's it! I added slices of apples under the cake mix, and it was even better ^^
♥ Bon appetit! ♥
